I miss seeing those little guys, the NA robin is a totally different bird in size and character. It's more like the size of the European thrush or blackbird. They migrate south for the winter too so no robins in the snow shots for us. Around here they use the first sightings of the robin as proof that spring has returned to the Great White North.

I love european robins - and the bokeh of my DA* 300mm.

Our robins are always sort of round, but around Christmas several of our smaller birds do these bauble-imitations to stay warm. This year I had a male reedling do the same:
