Addicted to the shoreline...
Lens: DA*16-50, DA12-24 Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Fryslân, the Netherlands ISO: 100

Most of my photography is somewhere near water; the sea and lakes. I guess there is something about a place where water meets land that frees my creative juices... Anyway here are some recent examples.

Cheers,

Remco

1. Big Sky, low tide

2. Sea shells galore

3. Human intervention

4. Flow

5. Fancy a swim?

6. A quite moment...

Very nice series. I like the way intersecting pylons in 4 effectively form an horizon which otherwise would have been difficult to discern.

Thanks Larry! I just searched for some impressions of the area you call home and you sure have a fair share of shorelines.

Thanks! The last one sadly has a tad to much noise for my taste. (I still like it though.) Perhaps a K-1 will solve such problems in the future.

Taks, thank you! I generally check the weather and the clouds before I commit my self to this sort of photo's.

Thanks! Perhaps it has to do with the fact that used ND-filters for all of them.

Wally, thank you! There are lots and lots of old pylons on this spot. They tried to create new land with them.

Once again a great series, Remco! I fully understand your fascination of the coast ... wish I would have more opportunities to shoot there.

Oh yes! This county is surrounded by water on three sides. We have Lake St. Clair to the north, the Detroit River to the west and Lake Erie to the south. I live about 2 km north of the Lake Erie shoreline and it extends north-eastward from here for about 330 kms.

Thanks! I sympathize with your wish to have more opportunities Norbert! I have lots of beautiful locations nearby, but it seems my working hours are only increasing with very predictable consequences for my photography. But on the up side my employer gave me the chance to shoot my first, small, documentary (video) on Vlieland; one of the smaller islands in the Waddensea with a strong emphasis on the landscape and nature. And for most of that I've used my trusted Pentax equipment!

Looks like we are both blessed with ample opportunities to photographically exploit what nature has to offer Tako! That is a lot of shoreline close by.

Cheers,

Remco

Thanks Kerrowdown! As there are no mountains between the sky and the ground in my neck of the woods (we do have some woods) having a big sky often is rather mandatory for my photography to thrive.
