This is Melbourne city taken from Elwood beach lookout. We are very lucky here to have places like this to go to. Thanks for peeking.

We lived in Melbourne more than 30 years ago (in my Army days) but I was never down that way. Nice clear sky line. Good feeling of a place to relax in the late afternoon.

Thanks Pete. Most of our beaches are very user friendly, some more than others though. This one is great for families to picnic, or just kick a footy.

Thanks eaglem. On calm days, the air pollution can be seen pretty easily. 4.4 million people can do that !!

Wow, that's not far short of the total population of my country... all in one city.

Nice way to introduce a city; with people doing casual stuff in a very different and green environment.

Thanks Remco, Like most residents of their home cities, it is easy to take their surroundings for granted. " My Melbourne " is quite a pretty place.

Scary stuff, remember where I stay the population of the Highlands of Scotland is only 234110 in 11838 square miles.

Removing the number of people that reside in the major towns and cities, it leaves the rest of us... as about 8 people per square mile.

Certainly a good outlook on the city. I have not been in that particular park. I occasionally head down to Ricketts Point but as I am resident in the far western suburbs I don't get over that side very often.

" Neighbour " takes on a whole different meaning with figures like that KD.

Thanks for the positive comment Bruce. Ricketts Point is a fine place to eat for a leisurely Sunday lunch.

Perhaps why I get "twitchy" in crowds.

Thank you very much Jer for the positive comment. Much appreciated. Injecting a " human " element into this photograph was key for me. I'm glad that I was able to capture both sides of my city in one image. The bricks and concrete, as well as the very reason for the city, the people.
