Came across this on a recent walk and was drawn to it. Amazingly complex structure.

What a heck of an interesting plant, amazing really, when looking at this (post 1) photo.

Thanks Jeff for the info on the plant. I see them everywhere here and have never looked at them closely.

Thanks all. I appreciate the comments. I’ll admit to be somewhat intimidated by the quality of the work I see so often in this forum. Every now and then I manage to come up with something interesting. Even a blind squirrel finds the odd acorn.

Same walk up Beaver Creek Road. Everyday I see something new in the ditch. It's amazing how much change you notice walking the same path for a week or two. Pentax K 300 f4 was the lens this afternoon. First signs of fall?
