Came across this on a recent walk and was drawn to it. Amazingly complex structure.

Thanks Jimbo and Neisey.

I used the Pentax K 300 f4 for this shot. I would have walked right past this one but mother nature turned the spotlight on it for just a moment. Quite pleased with the amount of detail the old lens provided.

Perfect DOF work here - the whole plant is sharp, isolated in nice bokeh. Very interesting plant as well. Cool shot.

I find it interesting that we have all walked passed thousands of these plants in our life time and never give them a passing thought other than 'damn weeds!' However, when pictured here with clarity and amazing detail we have time to appreciate it's natural beauty.

This is the humble plant is known as 'Queen Anne's Lace' (Daucus carotais) or simply, the wild carrot. There is a lot of information written about this wild herb and it's ability to cure may human ailments. For one thing, it is said that a potion made of the crushed flowers will act as a 'morning after' pill for women.

Thanks for sharing!

I always like shots with high speed flash. The black surrounding really enhanced the subject well

yep... certainly worth taking a photo of!! it turned out great!! amazing detail.

ps- j.scott- thats interesting about the ailments and very true about taking things for granted.. if we all stopped to check out the world around us,we would be amazed at what we could find.. how can anyone be bored in life when theres things like weeds to go look at.i bet not many people would even think of looking at one of them through a macro lense.hmm
