The sand-hill cranes here are so tolerant. Another photographer getting close up

That photographer is taking a chance. I was talking with an interpreter at Waterton Lakes National Park, and she mentioned that an interpreter was killed by a Sandhill with a "peck" to the temple. I prefer to use a long lens and stay further away. The chat happened after I saw a sandhill drive off a female moose.

I tend to stay far enough away I can get full or half body shots with a 300. This time of year they dance a lot, and you cant get the dance in a close shot
I guess maybe 30 ft for this one then crop up slightly
