I'm intrigued at what I'm looking at under the red cover... is it a coffin awaiting transportation out to Isola di San Michele?

Indeed... in all the time I've been there I have never seen this before or had the opportunity to photography it.

That is what I inferred from the title - someone at final rest while the rest of the world continues going about its daily business.
