I hold a portrait workshop at my University once per semester, Angela was a participant.
I want them to portrait each other so that for a while everyone is also forced to be in the position of the person being photographed, to get a perspective on how helpless you feel when a photographer doesn't give you direction or always stares at his camera screen instead of engaging with you. So while Angela was also a photographer, here she would let others and me photograph her.
Anyway, here i thought i try out to use the flourescent tubes in the hallways of the University for lighting. There's no additional lighting, all done just by positioning her in the right spot. I feld that's a great excercise to get a feel for the angles in which light can fall onto a person.
Angela was really relaxed and gave me this look, while tying her hair. Easily my favourite for 2016, i hope you like it, too.
