Four Aspens

This October I was fortunate t participate in a workshop with John Sexton, Charles Cramer, and Anne Larsen at Mono Lakes. One of the highlights of the trip was to capture the fall colors of the aspen groves along June Lake Road just south of the community of Lee Vining

That's wonderful--I really love what tele's bring to forest scenes like this.

Thanks for the comment and complement. I brought the new 24-70 and 15-30 f2.8 in this trip but my favorite shots were taken with the 200mm f2.8. Telescope really are great tools for forest/landscape photography.

Indeed, the compression and minimalist composition make for a very artful landscape. Hats off, very much after my fancy !

Interesting composition. Not your everyday shot, but I think it work swell here because of the contrast in terms of both color and size to the leaves.

This is really a very lovely photo portrait of the aspens. I struggle to show trees in their beauty in ways that are different than the usual. You've managed to do that very well. The ruddy background really offsets the featured trees well and compliments their greenish trunks.

This is an interesting use of telephoto, but I'm fairly certain I'd like the scene taken from closer in - less telephoto and more trees.
