a couple from Saturdays wedding
Posted By: little laker, 08-03-2008, 12:28 AM

I'll probably still do some work to these, but here are a few from the wedding I just shot.

Everyone there was great, and I loved that job.
If all weddings went like it I wouldn't mind shooting them for a living.

I'm off to bed, and might post some more in the next few days.

Quite an adventurous series.
They all look happy and comfortable with you.

This is a very hard job to do, making all the people looking at you and appearing so relaxed and natural.

What a wild bunch. Always makes it easier when everyone is laid back and having a great time. My only nit would be on the bride alone get rid of the power lines/cables. I am sure you will but just an observation.

good to see everyone was relaxed.

I am a bit curious about that first shot, that ladder and setting looks far from the cleanest position for the bride to be in with the white dress - most brides would be extremely hesitant about getting it dirty, good to hear it went ok.

Great job. Crossing my fingers that everybody will be as cheerful and smiling this Friday when it's my turn behind the lens.

Thank you everyone,

It was a blast, although now my work is just beginning.... later on today, or tomorrow after I really wake up.

I was too tired to notice those power lines last night, so thank you for pointing them out.
And I might try smoothing out the tablecloth as well.

I was too tired to say this earlier (and I really still am) but I wanted to say that I know you'll do fine. I'm really looking forward to seeing your results.

This was my first wedding as the #1 photographer, and I found it less stressful than working for someone.
Everyone knew to keep out of my way, and was really good about it. Which really helped.
Plus I offered tips when others needed it, Shot others cameras when they wanted a group pic with themselves in it, and so on.

I exercised a couple of ideas, which I'll post later. Which might help give you a few ideas on your own. Just simple things like the couple kissing under the cover of the veil during the first dance.

Good one Stu.
A bit of PP and they're good to go!
I'm sure they'll be pleased.

Thanks Ashraf,

Now it sounds like I'm off to a model shoot. August is looking like my busiest month ever so far.

Hi Stu, I like the first shot. I bet the bride suggested that pose, how about posting the oter shot, the one with her thumb on the top of his head.
The groom looks a bit like Paul Giamatti.
Looks like it was a fun shoot. I hope you get more business from that crowd.

Thanks Gary,

I have a pic with them both wearing rabbit ears, but I haven't gotten to it yet.

And I already have another family shoot arranged with the new couple, The groom's son, and their dog in a couple of weeks.
It looks like I'm the new photographer for 2 families, and the magistrate might be recommending my work as well.
