Sports Action Fast Pitch Softball
Lens: HD Pentax-DA 55-300mmF4-5.8 ED Camera: K3-II Photo Location: Burlington HS, WI ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F9

Mid afternoon game with shadows of the players. Camera was set to rapid frame rate to capture the right moment during the swing at the pitch. The batter is my granddaughter.

Excellent image Harold, but didn't anybody tell you that Pentax is no good for sports !! Very glad that you didn't listen. Well taken indeed.

I recently acquired that same lens and as much as I like it, I didn't think it would be this good for action sports. A new dimension to work on. Thanks a billion.

Nice work. Years ago I shot a tournament game for my team with a *ist and a Sigma 70-300. It doesn't take as much high tech as a lot of the hot shots seem to think it does. Anticipation and shooting angles are the key ingredients. The umpire let me sit, just beyond the back stop behind first base, but in front of the screen. That gave me awesome shooting angles.
