A Small Taste of Winter in N. Texas
Camera: Canon SD1100 IS (p&s) Photo Location: Acorn Woods, Grapevine TX

We received a short, but intense bit of Winter here in DFW Texas recently. Winds, cold temps and even a bit of snow made their way into the area. Here's some shots from Saturday's dogwalk. I've walked the dogs here hundreds of times, but the snow made everything seem new again.

Tino (semi-hidden at center) staying "on track"...

The snow-dusted creek seen from one of the bridges...

Jeannie racing ahead of me to investigate another bridge...

I guess I'm not alone out here!

Tino finds unmelted snow on the bridge...

Paul, Tino must like walking on the snow, rather than on the dry, sunny side! I love the shadows in that photo. Really nice photos, I especially like the one of the creek.

Be careful, looks like a "big foot", is lurking around!

Hey, Paul, you weren't alone. Down here south of Houston, we hit 27F both Friday and Saturday nights, the bird bath froze solid and the hibiscus plants look like they've been decimated by the plague. Fortunately, a quick warm up is forecast, with a high of about 70F tomorrow and highs near 80F later in the week.

In any event, you've made some nice pictures here; also, I'm a big admirer of you automotive photography which I enjoy in the General Talk section of PF.

Thanks for looking, Carol & Jer! Yes, the warmup has already begun - at least the snow was fun while it lasted FYI, I just now added a couple more photos to the set...

It's mostly gone now, maybe an ice patch or two in the shade. Maine? You've got some fantastic photo ops year round up there!
