Wildlife with the F* 250-600
Lens: F* 250-600 Camera: K10D Photo Location: Yellowstone Nat'l Park ISO: 100 Aperture: F7.1
Posted By: builttospill, 01-09-2017, 09:15 AM

Last year I was able to find the lens I've been wanting for several years: the F* 250-600. After recieving the lens, I quickly headed to Yellowstone National Park (I only live about an hour away) and did some tests. All the details are found in the thread https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/10-pentax-slr-lens-discussion/324885-acqu...ts-photos.html, so I'll just post a few photos here.

And finally, one wide open, f/5.6, at 600mm:

Great to hear you're enjoying the lens! Those are some wonderful captures. Hope you weren't too close to those bears

Thanks Adam. I was a little too close for comfort, but there were other photographers there who couldn't run as fast as I can.

Nice shots. I lived in that area for years and never did see a griz. Elk looks like it's got scabies. Not good.

Thanks everyone. I love all the outdoor activities in this area. Yeah, the elk was losing it's fur in the warm weather.

A loud car (problem with muffler) drove by while I was standing on the side of the road. The noise caused momma bear to stand for just a second. The next noise was incredible: a couple hundred gasps from the crowd and about 300 shutters clicking like crazy.
