Minnehaha Falls
Lens: DA15 Ltd Camera: K20D Photo Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota ISO: 200

I guess this place is well known among Minnesotans, but as a long time upper midwesterner I'd somehow failed to learn of it until this morning. It's a spectacular waterfall tucked away in a Minneapolis city park. The path to the base is closed by the city this time of year because of slippery footing and falling ice, though people do frequently climb over the barricades for a thrill, a photo op, or (as we saw during a visit this morning) a marriage proposal.

edit: I can't fix a typo in the photo location? :-( Honestly, I'm not trying to sound like Sean Connery here.

A wonderful photograph 007 !! We have nothing like that in Australia. Very well taken.

PS. If you hit EDIT MESSAGE, then GO ADVANCED, all should be changeable. Good luck.

007? I prefer Marko Ramius. (it was time for a new avatar anyway)

Anyway to stay on topic: a few more shots from the falls, these from an MX-1. (and apparently I need to pay more attention to white balance)

I've been there many times. Hiked all the way from the fort once. Entered the sewers just down stream where the rivers meet also. I grew up next to the old mills and Burwell house near its start at Grey's Bay. Minnehaha was my childhood. I've floated down river a touch now, down to the Gulf.
Thanks for the pictures.
