they show up in the hundreds at our feeders and stream
if it's a short visit there isn't a problem
otherwise nobody gets food or water
so we have to move them on or wait for a cooper's hawk to come to dinner

the only two birds that won't back down at the feeder are mourning doves and red-bellied woodpeckers
