Strange color blue
Photo Location: Yamal Peninsula
Posted By: feuer, 01-24-2017, 10:22 AM

I made this picture in August, on the Yamal Peninsula, near the settlement named Stony Cape (~ 68.490920 N, 73.598591 E), which had nothing stony on the shore. Shortly before the captured moment there had been a severe thunderstorm, quite unusual for the area. It was gone in the direction of the Taz Peninsula, hanging over the Gulf of Ob and giving it a deep color. Another luck was that the water near the shore didn't come wavy, as the strong wind stopped shortly after the rain . Weather, light and color were changing fast, and I had to run a bit on the wet sand along the beach to build the frame and capture these colors.

Yes very colourful. I can't say I have ever noticed the difference in colour either side of a rainbow before. I will pay more attention next time.
