shot this this a.m. while getting coffee at mc donalds, looked up and there it was eating its own breakfast....however, i have been kinda on vacation and don't have books so if anyone can identify this guy i would sure appreciate it..........

I would say a female Osprey.

BTW, they love to fish, and of course eat their catch.

Thanks_ wa5am, searched a number of sites and couldn't find an answer.....and she sure was enjoying eating the fish when i first saw her......

I'd go with an osprey, too. Although I don't know American birds, the Australian equivalent is pretty similar to what you've got there.

nice shot!, be glad mcdonalds isnt is on the menu for these birds lol

I could only imagine the terror if these guys had the diet of a seagull

heres a few photos of one i took a few months back at a local marsh in NJ
