The first one is a Starling and the second is a Cardinal I think. Beautiful colours!

Thank your lucky stars you don't have European Starlings in Oz! They are a beautiful bird but considered a pest.

Sadly, the English did bring Starlings with them. I've seen thousands of them roosting in a nearby swamp. The English also brought sparrows, pigeons, goldfinches, greenfinches, pheasants, indian mynahs and blackbirds. More damaging was bringing rabbits, foxes and cats, though.
