Please help me by letting me know your favorite photos from this series. I'm taking a photography class and need to pick out two for an assignment called "A Special Place". Thank you so much!

Sorry - Assignment is just "Special Place" - no specific depth of field, etc. Thank you!

6 is the best of the set though, just can't see it fitting the brief.

Yes, 6 then 3. Those are my picks, too. None, however, jump out at me for 'Special Place'.

Thanks... Good point about it not exactly fitting "Special Place"... I have a few days to come up with something else so I'll keep thinking about what I could do. This is the first assignment so I maybe the instructor is keeping it vague.

Great to see some Bay Area shots !

I like 5, 6 and 11 with a crop.
None particularly jump out to me as fitting the theme.

Pose someone in the frame. Ask them to sit on a sea wall and stare off into the distance, then use their silhouette or profile to effect. 3, 8 and 11 could be captured that way at the right time of day.

I suspect the assignment may be better expressed as "go to a place you think is special and show us why in a photograph".

It might be the solitude of a beach in winter or a crowd jumping out of their seats at a sporting event, what makes it special to you.

I also thought the only one that fit the theme was the gull--it being in its special place.

As far as #11 or #12, they may qualify for the theme (sort of), and I liked it being B&W more, but you should rotate the picture so the pier and shore line are horizontal and building wall is vertical.

Yes, perhaps I was being a little narrow in my interpretation. Change it to "Your or something/someones special place".

A bird in it's nest, a mouse in it's hole, a baby in it's mothers arms, a pair of initials carved in a tree, a gravestone, a war memorial. All special places.
