We recently had a couple days of strong "Santa Ana" winds, and when they died down yesterday there was a very clear blue sky and the mountains were very crisp. Decided to get up this morning at 5 AM to go to the observatory and get the first shot posted here (I have several similar shots from various times of day and atmospheric conditions). After a 45 minute drive and the 20 minute hike up the fire road and setting up, it turns out I had the monopod plate, not the tripod plate, on the lens. So sort of held down the lens on the tripod but one leg was not snug...so this is not too sharp :-(

Thanks! Here are a couple more.

These kids were sitting around the monument as I was shooting it and he asked me to take their picture. I emailed it to him later. It could use a bit more processing help I think...
