Pentax K-1 landscape photography in North Wales
Posted By: robalabob, 02-10-2017, 04:44 AM

Hi everyone,

I posted asking for some lens advice a few weeks back about what I should get for my first DSLR, the Pentax K-1 and have eventually decided on the 28-105 and the 15-30 lenses. Someone mentioned that I should post the results here when I get some shots off so here is some work I have been doing since then. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I just want to add that I've tried the astrotracer a couple of times with not much luck as of yet so it will be a bit longer before I have any decent astrophotography to post. Hope you like

Rob

really nice - particularly love the first and the last - looks like you're enjoying the K-1 - certainly getting good results from it

Thank you mate. I love it. Still getting used to the settings and I keep randomly putting it into bracketed mode for some reason but apart from that it's a great camera. The 15-30 is a really great lens, I haven't got a lot of comparison but I like the way it handles ultra wide shots.

yes, really nice. 1 is awesome. 2 & 3 might be very suited for black & white conversion..

Very nice, especially the 1st (I though "wow" when seeing it) and 2nd (for me). Which of your 2 lenses did you use for that?

Nice shots, well done. The first one is amazing, something I would hang on my wall.

Cheers mate. I used the Pentax 15-30 for the lighthouse and the 28-105 for the wave. The lighthouse was taken at the widest focal length and I couldn't be happier with the way the lens handles it

The lighthouse shot is a stunner. I have a feeling that the sharpness did suffer a little bit though (And I am knit picking). What aperture did you shoot that one at?

Nit picking is great thank you. It was shot at 2.8. In retrospect I could have used a wider aperture to ensure the crisp detail was there

There's some pretty amazing stuff there, and one of my Border Collie's parents came from Wales. There must be sheep there, he was a champion dog.
