Mission San Luis Rey (de Francia) is the 18th (of 21) and largest in California's Spanish mission system. I went for some grave hunting in the mission cemetery. Got there as it was opening up.





Did not want to fight the field-trip kids, so I will save it for another day, perhaps (not too photo friendly).

I like the first one. I like the shadow of the palm tree on the mission. But the mission walls in all three look a bit washed out. At least on my screen. Where is that exactly? When I was a youngster in the San Francisco bay area I remember school field trips south of us to a number of missions.

It is in Oceanside. The walls are quite white.
