The beautiful island of La Palma
Camera: K-5 IIs Photo Location: See exif
Posted By: newmikey, 03-06-2017, 04:13 AM

We're having a short break on the beautiful Canary island of La Palma which we had not visited until now (We'd done Lanzarote, Tenerfife and Fuertaventura in the past). Reasonably untainted by mass-tourism and monstrous hotel highrises. Just landed yesterday late-afternoon and walked around in the cute little town of Tazacorte before getting dinner.

The K-5 IIs came along (left the GR at home) as well as the Tammy 17-50/2.8, the DA55-300 and the Revuenon 55/f1.2 with a AF 25mm tube for macro. Recently acquired the O-GPS1 from a forummemebr over at the Dutch Pentax forum which worked out really well. I always brought a separate GPS in the past but often forgot to switch it on or was to lazy to do the geotagging afterwards. Now the locations are embedded in the EXIF without much effort - useful to remember where what was once you're wading through stacks of images. Full EXIF including GPS location is in the images except for the HDR's (the little church) if you click through to Flickr.

1. Around our cute little "house on the mountain"

3. View over Tazacorte

4. Little church Tazacorte

5. The multicolored houses in Tazacorte

6. This little mosaic lizard lives on the outside wall of our house

7. I suppose yellow is the favorite color out here

You should try some astrophotography using the astrotracer. You won't see many darker skies.

Nice to see a bit of vivid colour about the building.
