Greenland photos!
Posted By: Adam, 08-08-2008, 03:35 PM

Since I'm making a one-day stop in Copenhagen on my way back from a weeklong trip to Greeland, I figured I'd use today to upload all of the photos I had processed from the trip and post about them here! I spent all of last week aboard the MS Fram, sailing through Greenlandic icefjords and visiting some local villages and towns. I won't hesitate to say that this has been one of the most magnificent- and unique- places I have ever been to!

As usual, the rest of the gallery, as well as more information about the trip, can be found on my site. Questions and comments welcome! If you'd like any of these photos blown up, printed, and framed, drop me a PM!

A few of my favorites:

Enjoy!!

I took all of these with the K20D and either the DA* 50-135 or FA* 80-200. The weather sealing sure came in handy when they took us out on the pontoon boats!

Those first three are out of this world. The rendering from those lenses is unsurpassed. And you did a great job getting them to perform to their utmost.

Hi Adam,

These shots really are all outstanding. I enjoyed each one more than the previous one, until I looped around, and liked the first one best again!

I especially like the way the colors are so saturated, but don't look "over-processed" or HDR-like. You've really struck a delicate balance in your handling of the exposures and the development of these shots.

The composition and cropping are also really great!

Thanks for posting them!

That scenery is stunning and you've captured it perfectly. I really like the colorful houses. Is there a story behind all buildings being painted in such bold colors?
That's the Danish influence. Old houses in Denmark are painted that way, and also in the Faroe Islands (which I wish I had my Pentax gear for while I was there).

Very nice. I'm about to Google the FRAM to see where/how/what. My only visit to Greenland was to Thule AFB in the Sixties; didn't leave any good memories.
