The Rosette Nebula and the star cluster NGC2244 · **9 Likes**

The image shows the association of the star cluster NGC2244 and the Rosette Nebula in the Monocerus region of the Milky Way. Cluster and nebula are about 5,000 lightyears away. Parts of the nebula are a star birth region and the radiations of young stars exites the atoms of the nebulas gas and makes it visible for our eyes.

75 x 180s exposure, F6.0, ISO 400

Shot from my balcony wit a Pentax K3ii
Skywatcher AZ-EQ5 and MGEN autoguider
TS APO Triplet 80/480mm
Processing with DeepSkyStacker and Photoshop CC2107

Isn't amazing how far we can see into the galaxy from a balcony with only a camera.

The combination of the Sony in the K3ii sensor with a decent camera internal data processing ist great for the astrophoto application!

Wow, great shot and thanks for all that technical info.
Just shows which improvements were made with lenses and cameras in the last 25 years. 25 years ago you could have fooled me by saying it was shot with the Hubble space telescope.
