Nice shots! Was that on Sunday? The sky was mostly blue on Saturday.

thanks Bob, a mostly overcast day, but still fairly bright, at least it wasn't a long hot day standing in the sun, cheers

thanks Rob, yeah Sunday, mostly grey overcast and some puffy white clouds which tended overexpose.

At least you probably missed the burns like I got on my legs. I tend to underexpose most of the time to avoid highlights being blown out, but at airshows it usually ends up with the aircraft being hopelessly dark. Spot exposure is too sensitive and centre weighted often not sensitive enough.

yeah the comfort factor was up , I usually shoot center weighted, then correct in PP, but I tried some spot which works fine if you hit the aircraft, not so good if you miss. Thinking about it afterwards (I'm good at that) center weighted with + 1/2 or +1 EV could have been worth a try.
cheers

Wish I used a setting like that for the last flight of the F111 at Williamtown. I keep telling myself that at least I got to see it, but it's sad that the photos are so dark.
