.....the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. Climb aboard Colorado's most scenic train for a journey through the spectacular Royal Gorge. Since 1879, these tracks have followed the winding, tumbling Arkansas River deep within the soaring, 1,000-foot granite cliffs. You might want to take the trip during the summer months though when it's not snowing, just sayin'.

Nice!

I saw the train a few years back when I rafted the gorge. I highly recommend visiting the Royal Gorge if you have a chance. Whether you raft, ride the train, or just walk the area, well worth seeing and you'll come home with many great photo's.

Great shot, bold colors in the snow!

40 years ago, that engine was one of several used by the Denver and Rio Grande Western's Colorado Zephyr passenger train. This train passed through my town a few times a week, and I would look out the window of my classroom to watch it go by.

Snow does have a way dressing up things Trev, I try to shoot as much as possible when it does finally snow.

it's a beauty that runs up to three times a day in the summer, lots of tourists come in to the area to ride KD.

Wow, no kidding. This brought back some memories for you then, you'll have to come to Canon and take a ride on it now.

We were going to use it for our Christmas cards but I took images of the Abbey in town that turned out better, that's what my wife said anyway.
