Kirkyard
Posted By: Kerrowdown, 03-11-2017, 08:08 AM

I stumbled across this old Kirkyard today, just beautifully backlight with a weak sun.

I don't think I've ever seen so many Snowdrops in one place before, what a bonnie place to rest.

To me, beautiful, peaceful, and sad all at the same time.

I agree on the first two, but I never find these to be sad, for me these are historical and social history places.

The influence from the vikings remains in the scottish vocabulary, in danish it’s kirkegaard (kirkegård)

Quite possibly, when your lot did a bit more sailing aboot...

Both the Isles of Shetland and Orkney, even today still consider themselves to be more Norse than Scots... and boy can they drink.

Kerrowdown is a bit of a philosopher, too.

(Was that a bit obscure?)

After your last post, then most definitely... I'm thinking more Philosophers Stone.
