Both very good shots, Pete. Like Bob, I'm particularly fond of the second shot... perfect choice on the DOF

Thank you Bob. Glad you like the 2nd image, my favorite from the day too. The beauty of photographing the models is if you miss the shot, you only have to wait a couple of minutes for them to come around the track again.

Thanks Mike. It was held in a school hall so the light was tricky. I was lucky with that one. Glad you enjoyed seeing them mate.

I definitely was deprived as a child. Made worse when my younger brother got the train set I wanted, because I was "to old to play with those toys".
"Mom, dad, , grown men play with those toys.."
My son got an awesome train set brought by Santa and we made a huge layout in the basement. He did maybe an hour or two of work on it. HIs main job was to try it out to make sure the latest improvements were up to scratch. I built mountains and tunnels, erected a model town and made trees from moss and lichen. My son and his buddies played for hours with it. Saturday morning was train time in my basement.

Thanks for the memories.

I'd say the 7-Year-Old Peter took a couple of terrific photos. I particularly like the second one - propelled me back in time to my small train layout in the basement of our house in southern Illinois.

Good stuff, buddy.

Never too late KD. At this show, the participants were 90% grandparents and 10% grandkids.

Thank you Norm. Sounds like you made up for your " deprived childhood " through your son !!

Much appreciated comments Jer. In our neighbourhood, it was either a train set or slot cars. There was WAY too much time wasted with the cars crawling around the track to put them back on after they crashed !!

Nice Peter. Looks like HO scale, is that correct?

I had an HO layout I built in my teens. Trestle bridge over a canyon, a mountain tunnel, a valley with pastures and crops, and a small town.

But I always wanted a larger scale layout.

Much more realistic.

Fun fact: the trains used by Gomez Addams in the 60's Addam's family television show were a mixture of Lionel "super O" and standard O27 gauge setups.
