Two very well done photographs. Very interesting and pleasing to soak in. TFS.

Thanks, PJV. I do a certain number of candids, too, but just think I can get better expressions out of people with a couple of seconds of banter/rapport first.

Good job on both. The K-1 sure handled the lighting in the second one a treat.

2 very different shots, both well done. Long exposures and lightpainting are a lot of fun.

Nice Photos! Can I ask, How did you did the first pic? Great capture on the Food cart Pic. I've a discussion going elsewhere on how to handle people and street shots... Appreciate the tip on the banter. I think I can use that one well thank you!

Two people are walking towards the camera, Al, each carefully swinging a coloured LED on the end of a thin rope. The settings are f8, ISO 100, and 42 seconds. That's the moon in the sky.

Yeah, I went to a street photography workshop with an instructor who advised us all to get up dramatically close to people without permission as she did, take a picture, then smile disarmingly afterwards and walk on.

And I thought, 'Well, you're an attractive French woman, you'll get away with this."

As a middle-aged man shooting by myself, if I did that the expressions would only be surprise, irritation or anger, just before the police were rung to find the pervert roaming the streets!

Thank you for the LED info! I can see me putting my kids to work in the near future!

Yep that would be my fear as a middle aged guy as well!. I like your idea of the banter much better!

Thanks again.

LED lighting is a boon to photographers, inexpensive, small, multicolored, and bright! I use LED flashlights and other very inexpensive LED lights to great effect in long exposure night shots.
