Pakenham stone bridge
Lens: K 28 f3.5 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Pakenham, ON
Posted By: IgorZ, 03-20-2017, 11:21 AM

Here is a photo of the Pakenham stone bridge - apparently, the only 5-arch masonry bridge in North America! Next time I will be better prepared - should cut down those trees in front and remove the power lines overhead...

Nice shot. If the power line was not there it would make a difference.

Thanks! Yes, it would. To be honest, I was only scoping out the location, as the day was grey. It was not clear how much closer I could move, as it was hard to tell where solid ground ends... I am planning to go back when light is better, maybe then I can figure out a way to avoid power lines...

Amazing to see this bridge: I used to take the kids out skiing on "the hill" there !
Well, I hope I am looking at the right Pakenham (west of Ottawa) !

Great shot of this special bridge.

Thanks! Yes, that's the one. I was actually looking at the hill as I was getting off the highway... Was thinking of signing up kids for skiing there this year, but didn't work out

We had a lot of fun there and it is excellent for kids beginning the sport!
Cheers!

Great subject matter and pic here! Can you get to any other locations around it. I think I could spend hours on this one!

Love the smoothness and how the blue complements the snow. Great shot!

That's funny I have the same POV and they're not on mine.

Nice shot IgorZ! This is a neat bridge, I drove over it and took a similar photo earlier this year (but not with the nice long shutter speed.)

Really like this shot IgorZ...here's a rough treatment alternative.
