The Return of the Body Snatchers . . . . . . . . . Maybe
Lens: DFA 28-105 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: A Small Town ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F8

Every spring, when I see an amaryllis bud, I think of the pods in the classic '50s move: "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".

This afternoon, I was intrigued by how the the sun was selectively illuminating part of an amaryllis plant in our backyard, so I grabbed my K-1, spot metered the lit pod and pressed the shutter button (more than once ). B&W is the only way to go with a body snatcher pod (everybody knows that), so when I applied B&W to one of the photos, I had this creepy feeling of deja vu. I'm suspicious that I may have made a similar photo years ago (during the first body snatcher invasion). If so, this is the sequel.

If they didn't, they do now Jer. My body snatcher pods have only ever been B&W. Well taken mate.

These here are only sold as indoor plants, at around about Christmas time, not much survives outdoors here...

Yup, it's tough, bud. The original movie actually did give me the willies when I was a boy - still does if I think about it!

Everything survives here (including body snatchers) . . . . . . . . . all year long. Not always a good thing.
