Alma High and Dry
Lens: DA 50mm Camera: K3 Photo Location: Alma, New Brunswick ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1s Aperture: F14

Take the Exif Data with a large grain of salt. I have been playing with with digitizing my slides ( with very limited success) using my K3 and Da 50. Post processed Darktable. The original slide was taken with P3 and Agfa ? slide film about 25 years ago. I'm reasonably happy with the image scan all things considered. But I really need to revisit this location again!

Its amazing how easy it is to give an image an old look when its an old image

Thank you! I have a few that I have been happy with so far.. I have a few more from that region, bird shots mostly. I'm still working on them a bit.

I do have a few that I have been happy with so far from same general time but various locations. I traveled a bit then. that was BK ..before kids... Be happy to post a few more..

Thanks. That was captured with a pentax F* 300 mm lens... It can be very sharp. Back then I usually shot everything at 4.5 on that lens. My guess is I did that there based on the narrow depth of field. That plus the gators scales ... the short of it. It just happened that way! I hadn't been into photography as much then.

last 2.... these were with the k20D instead of k3, same Da 50 lens

I should say I was using an optika Slide copier with that DA 50 lens

Thanks for looking.

I think this should be in: "show those old photos from before 1990"

I think they fit here nicely, too. I probably wouldn't have seen these awesome photos if they'd been in that other forum. Makes me want the 300mm prime even more.

Nice shots Al. Love Osprey shot and the Hawk.

It's always sometimes very hard to reproduce an image from a slide, regardless of how it's done, especially how we remember it. However you seem to have done a very good job.
It's also nice for you to share a couple of shots of subjects we here in Atlantic Canada sometimes take for granted namely the scene at low tide in the Bay of Fundy and the Puffin

Those are some images worth saving for sure. You did a great job on them but I think a lot of photographer's skill went into the making of them.

Thank you!!!! Glad you found them then and Like them. The F*300 is really a great lens optically. Its probably my best lens and favorite lens.

Thanks Bob, I still have my film gear, If I can get this nailed down as far digitizing them, I think I might just pick up film again, for the fun of it! Theres nothing like that feeling of loading a camera with a roll of film. The SD card just doesn't have it!

Thanks! I spent some time traveling around Gaspe and the Bay of Fundy. Actually got engaged there. I absolutely love that region. I need to get my passport and return. So much to see there!

Thanks Susan, Appreciate that ! Not sure how much skill there was though.. I seem to remember burning through alot of film and a waste basket full of slides after the trip.. but it was a still a challenge to enjoy!

This would be a good year to do it with many things going on with Canada's 150th anniversary and the low Canadian buck. If you decide to come you should also check the Parks Canada website to see if they will send you a free access pass to the National Parks and Historic Sites. Many great places to photograph inside the parks and historic sites
