Morning Flight
Lens: DA 300 Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Sweetwater Wetlands ISO: 2500 Aperture: F8
Posted By: slowpez, 03-24-2017, 06:23 AM

Shutter speed was 1/1600s. Taken at a wetlands near Gainsville, Florida. The purpose of the wetlands is to allow wastewater to drain through a series of ponds to clean it before it filters back into the aquifer. There are a lot of these wetlands popping up all over Florida and the birds really flock to them. This is a Limpkin and I think I had only seen one once before but at Sweetwater, we were tripping all over them.

The wetlands are amazing. We hope to go back next winter and spend more time at them.

A cool piece of imagery this.

High ISOs and shutter speeds rule... for birds.
