Echo from a Simpler Time
Lens: DFA 28-105 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Kemah, TX
Posted By: Sailor, 03-25-2017, 07:54 AM

Here is a collection of photos of a wonderfully-restored, guards red 1970 Porsche 911T, which was the least expensive 911 available at the time. I love the clean simplicity of classic 911s which impart the cars with ageless beauty. A little research indicates a T model is not the most collectable of the early 911s, but examples in excellent or concours condition can demand well into six figures.

Nice, and red does go faster, it's the pigment in the paint I believe.

Hey, Norbert, thanks much. I'd love one of these air-cooled classics, myself. Of course, Connie would shoot me on the spot were I to bring one home.

Nice shots Jer....you got them just right! Great car, and I really like that shade of red. In shooting Cardinals I have noticed that the K1 is the best yet at getting reds just right. Cardinals come in several shades of red and the K1 gets them all just perfect.

So what do you reckon that car would go for? Probably more than I can put on Mrs Rupert's debit card?

Regards!

Thanks much, Rupert.

I think you're right about the K-1's ability to capture subtle differences in reds as well as other colors. When I open shots like those posted here full screen on my Mac, I can't believe the depth and color I see. Unfortunately, some of that is lost in the posting process.

Before I started this thread, I looked up "values" of 911Ts using the valuation tool on Haggerty''s website. If I remember correctly, an excellent driver should bring about 75 grand; a concours-level example can go for around $110,000. Peanuts for Mrs. Rupert.

I'm glad you like the shots, Dave - it's a great looking car for sure. In fact, I think you would look good in one of these!
