3 weeks left to go on our Venice Fl. vacation. Just up the street from where we are staying is Ideal Classic Cars on 41. It's is a fine showroom to walk around and take some shots. All pics were with the Sigma 10-20mm lens.--charliezap

Some mighty fine photos of some mighty fine machinery, Capn. I hope you're livin' large in Florida.

Fine shots, but what were the designers thinking with some of the styling.

That is an excellent series of shots of some well restored classic cars.

A different aesthetic, Trev. Bigger is better was the general theme in the 1950s through to the 1980s, but only expressed that way in the USA. We saw very few of those cars here in Australia at the time, mostly, from my observations, owned by well-off cockies who imported them and drove them at high speed on the Outback highways, where bends were few.

It would be interesting to find out if any of those imports are still around and to see if any were modified for Right Hand Drive. If one was found rebuilt and placed by it's American Cousin would definitely make an interesting scene.

I guess from what RobA said about driving them hard and fast on the Outback roads. Anything left now would most likely look more like the modified Golf Cart in the first shot made to look like one of the characters out of the movie "Cars"

Many would have sat in sheds on farms for years, until some keen restorer winkled them out, and put them back on the road. The ones I used to see were always RHD, so I can only guess there were a few conversion shops making hay, at the time.

Thanks for the Skyliner. It was about 40 years before other manufacturers tried to do the same thing.

Really liking that Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner, so cool how the top disappears into the rear like that.
