Illustration from a photo (does that count?)
Posted By: thomasjmpark, 08-12-2008, 10:11 AM

Hi,
Ive been working on this illustration for a long time on and off. Its a straight foward copy from a photograph (not mine) and its still pretty far from being finished but I like the way way its turning out. I still have to add texture to everything which is going to take a while.

It was done using Illustrator to get the shapes of things and then Photoshop was used as a paint brush to get it where it is now. Its been so long since ive used Photoshop in this way that im not sure I remember exactly what I did, or how to do it again! Anyway its time to pick up the virtual paintbrush again

Yes, it counts and it looks great! It looks like your going to have to find a frame for it...

Thanks Maxwell, if it comes out well in the end then I may well get it framed, its going to be a while though.

I used to really enjoy using these programs and would love to get the latest versions, might try for the bundle. Thanks for comments.

Thanks Rosemary

That's really cool Tom.
Now if only they would revive the 'Ladybird' brand of kids clothing that was the dogs b's back in the 60's and 70's I think you'd have yourself a big fat sale.

Thanks Kris. I used to use Illustrator and Photoshop alot when I worked as a technical illustrator but that was almost 10 yrs ago so have forgotten alot of the basics! Illustrator is a great program to use though, stick at it
