Well, well... look who's back!

It's been a few years since Red-breasted Grosbeaks have visited the feeders. He came between showers and was pretty wet! Still a welcomed sight as they only come through this area during their migration.

Very nice shots !
They've not arrived here yet but as you said, it's always nice to see them (and be able to "capture" them).

Very nice! Our yard is a stopping point, too. I have yet to hear any in nesting season.
It would be nice, they're striking birds.

Soggy is an understatement, Susan. This guy was waterlogged! Thanks for the comments.

very nice!

we won't see them for another two or three weeks

they show up with the orioles, stay a couple of days and move on

the weird thing is, a pair nest a half mile north, rear a brood and disappear
however we won't see them except on early morning dog walks

an oriole pair do the same thing except they nest in a huge cottonwood about a quarter mile west and north
we'll hear and see them on our noon perambulation until mid july then...poof...they're gone

Our orioles tend to nest in trees along the river, you can see the nests when the trees are bare. They stick around all season, which is nice.
