Nice shot! They're more purple than blue here. It's a wild Petunia.

We have the purple variety growing every where here, all over our back yard.

Looking at the bokeh, it looks like we have similar growth as Costa Rica does.

Nope, no monkeys. You're safe there, but they do have them in the Everglades, a lot further south than where I live.
