junk yard or natural automotive museum ?
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: White, Georgia ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/25s Aperture: F7.1

Old Car City in White, Georgia contains the worlds largest known classic car junkyard. Old Car City started as a Car Dealership in 1931 and is still family owned and operated. 34 acres with more than 4,000 old cars (1972 and older). 6.5 miles of trails. Cars date back as far back as the 1920s. Walking through, you appreciate that it’s more of a natural museum of automotive history than junkyard. You can see the styles and changes of cars over the decades. The owner, Dean Lewis, told me one day wouldn’t be enough – he was right. I hiked for 5 hours, took over 350 images, and barely scratched the surface. But at least I can take it off my “bucket list”.

The B&W photo is great. It's a shame these cars are just rusting away, but I guess if some of them lasted almost a century, maybe they will last a bit longer. Does he add newer styles to his collection? Is there a Bugatti rotting away somewhere?

I would love to spend a day wondering through there. That first image is great, file that away for the Best of 2017 challenge.

Great shots...wonderful subjects. You have a rare resource there and I envy your opportunity to wander through the yard and snap away. Thanks for presenting, enjoyed the photos a lot.
