Atop Sentinel Dome(Yosemite)

Very nice and expansive. Is that not on the way to the Fissures? Glad to see you did not stumble over the edge...

There is Sentinel Rock at the middle in the picture above and Pohono trail runs behind it along the south rim of the valley west to Taft point and all the way down to Tunnel View.

Judged by the trail condition from parking lot to Sentinel Dome, I knew most of the Pohono Trail should be still covered by snow in the shaded area especially in the dense forest. So I didn't take Pohono Trail but hiked back to the parking lot instead and then hiked the official 1.1 mile trail to Taft point and the Fissures. It's tricky to find a good point to cross Sentinel Creek because the water was high and the snow bridge was melting away. I lost my way once in the snow and got back to the right direction eventually. And I enjoyed the whole Taft Point by myself for almost 2 hours till 3 other hikers showed up. Taft Point looked like this............
