Fox Families
Lens: DA 560 Camera: K-1
Posted By: KiloHotelphoto, 05-29-2017, 03:42 PM

Saturday I got some shots of a fox family I've been watching for a month or so now and another family I just found last weekend.

I was watching the kits play and I don't think they knew I was there or just didn't care. Mom or dad was not far away but was looking the other way. When the deer came I thought it would spook the foxes or alert them to me but the one little kit came out and looked like it was ready to jump the deer but then it must of realized it was a little out of it's weight class.

These five shots are from the family I've been watching for a month at least.

This is a new family I found last week. Dad is a ratty looking fox and mom isn't much better. I didn't post a picture of dad but I almost stepped on him before he jumped up and barked at me and ran off.

The 3rd picture in the first set of photos is a real stunner! I've been sitting here studying it for the last few minutes, and while I can't give you specific details about why I like it so much, it simply has me mesmerized! Great job!

Thank you, I also really liked how that shot came out, it was probably the best of the day.

The first image in this {second} series has a neat cameo appearance by a blue jay; "protecting" its nest, perhaps??

So cute! Never could understand why people hunt them. Great series!

The scruffy kit looks like he is straight out of a Disney image. This is a great series of both families. Is there an easy source of food nearby? I hope no one is feeding them intentionally nearby.

The photo with the bluejay taking a closer look is spectacular.
