I recall some years ago, I was co-hosting some Japanese visitors from Tokyo and there was a bit of a language barrier. We did have an interpreter who was very good.
We were going out to visit one of our universities and unfortunately the weather was around -35. We provided toques and warm clothing for the visitors and I grabbed a toque out of my car's trunk. This particular toque was a gift from my children and happened to have the Chevrolet bow tie emblem, as per the OP photograph...no words just the Chevy bow tie emblem.
When I pulled the toque on, immediately two of the Japanese men started smiling and chanting....Chevrolet...Chevrolet.
The quick recognition of the Chevrolet bow tie made me realize how recognizable this badge is, throughout different parts of the world.
It was a lot of fun and quite a learning experience to be with the visitors from Japan.
