Out and about with the DFA 100mm f2.8 macro
Posted By: betsypdx, 02-18-2007, 03:23 PM

Roentarre posted some pics from this lens, inspiring me to do the same.

I took a bunch of pics with it yesterday -

1. Outside my front door - 1/500s f/5.6 at 100.0mm iso800

2. Snack time - 1/1000s f/7.1 at 100.0mm iso200

3. A vertical crop from a horizontal shot - 1/60s f/7.1 at 100.0mm iso200

4. Max "the dog" - 1/1000s f/6.3 at 100.0mm iso200

The animated version is here - he wanted me to make him pant like a dog -

5. Latte - 1/500s f/10.0 at 100.0mm iso200

6. Euphorbia - 1/160s f/6.3 at 100.0mm iso800

It's a great lens.

Hi Betsy great shots. Is that a Rhododendron in your first? You are very lucky we won't be seeing Rhodies bloom till mid May at the earliest, more like early June. I like all the shots but the Euphorbia is definitely my fav. Truely wonderful shot, a "framer" for sure!

Very nice Betsy. The animation of Max cracked me up. I love the last two images. I like the lighting on the Latte and the Euphorbia is well composed and effective use of dof. Good work!

Very pleasant shots. Bokeh coming out of this lens is just amazing, isn't it?

The eyelashes are just razor sharp there. Getting my attention really well.

Nope - it's a daphne odora - very fragrant and just starting to bloom. more here: Daphne odora Photo Gallery by betsypdx at pbase.com

Thanks all for looking -
LaRee and Alvin - it was fun making Max pant - TMalford told me how to do the same for my dog, and Max insisted on the same treatment for him. Of course, at five, he thought if he just stuck his tongue in and out at me, the camera would do a little movie. Instead, I just got a bunch of shots with him sticking out his tongue and had to use liquify and animation to get the silly moving image.

Roentarre - the eyelashes are sharp with this lens - but the length and thickness is all theirs. Not fair - I'd love to have those eyelashes.
