Milky Way with astrotracer
Lens: Samyang 16 mm F2.0 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: La Malbaie QC ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: Above 6s Aperture: F2.5
Posted By: SunValley, 05-31-2017, 05:44 PM

Two 90 s shots stiched with Microsoft ICE. For once I was under a very dark sky so the MW shows a lot of details. I tried to frame myself into the picture but my light was a lighter and the wind kept blowing the flame on my thumb no matter which way I held it! I'll think of something else next time.

Nice shot of the Milky Way. It looks like the Samyang 16mm lens performs very well for astro work.

Very nice, but I kept ignoring that glowing dude at the bottom of the frame to look at those glorious stars!

Speaking of "glowng", what is happening on the horizon?

Town lights by the look of it. Even with a red enhancing filter, those pesky people and their streetlights can ruin a Milky Way shoot with their nasty brightness.

Town lights indeed. Those were small towns located 30 to 50 km away where where low clouds reflected their lights and made them even more obvious than usual.
