Posted By: themarox, 08-15-2008, 01:29 PM

Hey.

I'm ney to this forum and this is my first post.

I'm from Germany, just out of school and gong to London in October.

Habe fun with these shots out of my k100ds at 18-55.

[strobe fixed ON cam]

... A Day with bad weather and strange photos.

Gone to the worst part of town and found a drill ground for dogs and some more.

That's what we've looked for.

P.S: While watching, listen to Dirty Pretty things, first album.

now fun.

Gute Bilder (Nice shots)

I like # 1 and 4 the best (4 could benefit from some PP)

Welcome to the forum.
Nice series, they look like music stars publicity photos.
They all could do with some PP to improve how they look and some of them could be composed better. We are all learning so don't be frightened to ask for, or give, help and advice.
If I had shot that series, I would consider going back and reshooting it at a later date.
#2, #4 and #5 are the top 3 but #4 could be so much better if you had moved back a bit and then shot from lower down to change the perspective and lose some of the sky.
Well done.

I love the style and color here =) I've seen similar shots used for CD booklets, and with just some cropping this series can look quite impressive imo.

PP = postprocessing (with photoshop or your program of choice)

For me, #2 is compelling - I'd try it in B&W. These kinds of shots are hard to pull off - they look contrived (since - after all - they are). #2 manages to hit - for me - the sweet spot between spontaneous and staged. Good job.
