I like it - very sharp and nice lines. I presume you use a tripod for this kind of shot with the DA*300? And was this taken in Canberra botanical gardens by any chance? (The red looks like the bauxite pebbles that were used for landscaping in some areas.)

Very nice indeed and the complimentary background makes the subject POP

Looks nice, and yes, the red, totally blurred background is an interesting contrast to the single flower bulb!

No, it was hand held. I should have planned a bit better and taken the DFA 100 macro and a tripod, but it was mainly birds I planned to photograph.
Yes, it was the ANBG, but the red is the colour of the sand in the million dollar "desert" garden. There was a Sturt Desert Pea flowering too, which was a surprise!

Thanks! I had a couple of others with a green background but I really like the red bokeh.

Thanks! Given the lighting, I had to use a wide aperture, but I love the bokeh from the DA*300.
