Old Man on Highland
Lens: FA 31mm F1.8AL Limited Camera: K-5 IIs Photo Location: Dongchuan, Yunnan, China ISO: 160 Shutter Speed: 1/4000s Aperture: F1.8

The Red-earth highland is a photogenic place at Dongchuan, Yunnan, China. The old man and his friend were lit by the sunlight that shone and disappeared instantly because of the fast moving clouds on the highland.
Thanks for looking!

Well done. The picture looks like it is out of an older National Geographic magazine.

Thank you for stopping by, Susan. The 1.8 aperture helps for the separation, I think.
Regards!

Truly an amazing shot. I keep seeing it in the forums and going back to look at it again. It draws your mind to the scene as well as your eyes.

Thanks for your comment, my friend! I agree, he has everything characteristic for living on a highland, e.g., his dark red skin color, leather hat, waistcoat of goat skin, pipe, and of course, his dog with a copper bell.
Regards!

Dear friend, it's very kind of you for such a high praise. Thanks a lot!
The dry, windy, cold and harsh living conditions on the plateau have brought about the special features of the old man, I think. We believe that human beings are shaped by the land around them.
Regards!
