Black & White Emerging from the Gloom

I'm still fiddling with my new FA 43 - it's too hot to take the lens on a field trip, so I seem to be confined to closeups.

Nice and sharp considering the ISO would have been pretty high.

Actually, EM, the ISO wasn't high (400) but the photographer may have been (

) since I took this shot at cocktail hour and at the 43's minimum focus distance. Given that the lens was virtually wide open (f/2) - with a consequent narrow DOF - I was lucky to get one this good.

I took a couple of others that were unusable, but even though this pic has suboptimal sharpness, I liked it well enough to PP it.
