.... I imagine if I use my same technique with a larger/ full frame sensor with more megapixels (ie. K-1 or A7RII) + a professional photo editing program = a better image that would be approximately an 8 to 12 megapixel image after crop vs. My current 3 to 5 megapixel crop. ---------- Post added 08-06-17 at 06:13 AM ---------- Once I established how close the birds would "tolerate" my camera, di figured I'd use my best lens (color saturation, sharpness). I don't have a large collection of lenses currently. However, I'm going to find s way to "trick" the camera into thinking my 56mm Lebsbaby Velvet is an autofocus lens which hopefully will allow me to use HSS flash with it. The Velvet is the sharpest and most awesome lens I've used so far - if used properly the images will look like photos taken with vintage glass. ---------- Post added 08-06-17 at 06:28 AM ---------- Also, due to the unpredictability of the birds' approach, I wanted a compromise between reach and wide angle to allow more opportunity to capture the birds in flight. The less wide angle, the harder you have to work to catch birds in frame using tripod, but presumably less crop vs. More wide angle, easier to capture birds in the frame, but because of less reach have to crop heavily.
